Good Morning, Cruisers

I wasn't sure about a cruise in Northern Europe. To be honest, and not much of a surprise to most of you readers, I am not a fan of cold weather and I don't really like to be around a lot of people. It isn't that I don't like people, I just don't love so many of them at once and I really don't love the LOUD ones. You know the ones that think everyone needs to hear their conversation, the ones that seem to be yelling their opinions and often private conversations. Cruise ships are filled with people, seemingly many of the inconsiderate, loud ones. You know the ones that haven't discovered earbuds for their phones, the obnoxiously loud laughers, the over-sharers (is that a real word) and just plain loud people.

It also comes with morning announcements. Let me tell you, morning announcements after a late night and a good sleep in the darkest of dark rooms are quite a wake-up! This morning was just a reminder of the good views to come but the morning with Code Bravo was a bit concerning for someone that doesn't know the codes.

But, I REALLY wanted to see the fjords view from the ship. I wanted to experience the sail in between the mountains filled with waterfalls, to see it all from a distance in all its grandeur. So, I put up with the loud ones, the inconsiderate ones that think the world is all about them and their view, their conversations and, of course, the blaring music they pick for the sixteenth video they have shot in the last 10 minutes.

This morning I found the quieter spot. Not many are making their way outside, but it is absolutely the most perfect spot to have your morning tea, watching the waterfalls, mountains and forests pass you by. The scenery is exactly what I hoped for. The snow-capped mountains are majestic with waterfalls streaming down. The trees seem to go on forever.

I look in awe at the brave and lucky souls that have made their home/farm clinging to the mountain. I bet they don't have to hear seven songs screaming through an iPhone while a tourist finds the perfect background music.

Ah well, putting my earbuds in for the rest of the amazing trip to Geiranger, Norway this morning.
